Online Individual Graduate Courses in Clinical Genetics and Genomics
Students with a bachelor’s degree or higher can take courses in the Clinical Genetics and Genomics Graduate Certificate as non-degree students. The non-degree designation allows students to take courses without being formally admitted to the University. If a student decides to matriculate into the program within six years of completing the non-degree course(s), the credits are, generally, transferable if the student received a B- or better. A maximum of 6 credits (two 3-credit courses) can be taken as a non-degree student before the student needs to apply for admission into the program. Non-degree students in these courses pay a comprehensive fee of $925 per credit or $2,775 for a 3-credit course. The cost is the same for in-state, out-of-state, and international students. Non-degree students are not eligible for federal financial aid or institutional financial aid. Non-degree students may wish to consider: Employer Reimbursement, UConn Payment Plan, Private/Alternative Educational Loans, Private/External Scholarships, Third Party Invoicing, Tuition Waivers, or Veteran and Military Benefits.
If you are interested in registering for a course in the Clinical Genetics and Genomics Graduate Certificate, please complete the Non-Degree Course Interest Form. The Spring 2026 Non-Degree Course Pre-Approval Form will open on December 1st.
*Students must complete ISG 5100: Foundations of Genetic and Genomic Medicine prior to enrolling in any other certificate courses. Students with an academic and/or professional background in genetics or genomics may request an exemption from this requirement on the Non-Degree Course Interest Form.
